Slow day at this fair. first one I have ever done. Very few people came into the fair hence the poor sales. I was lucky in that I did sell a few cards and brooches. A lot of exhibitors didnt sell anything making the table hire of at least £25.00 very expensive. The best bit was the networking aspect. Times are tough out there. So many talented people trying to get their work out there. Would really have to consider whether to do one again…. mmm .

Bead and Button Brooches and Felted Flowers
24 FebThese are a few of the brooches I have recently made, which are for sale. Now need to sell them. They make lovely presents. Some of my friends are now the recipients of them.

They told me they were delighted with them. I love colour but realise that some people prefer more subtle clours instead of clashing colour so I will be making denim brooches next.

Artworks now in MSO
9 DecJulie Robertson and I took our paintings to MSO Cranmore place off Cranmore Boulevard yesterday. Very large space where you can rent office space or just a workstation.
Jan Gay and Maureen Toomey also have paintings there.
See blog for 3rd dec to see what I have taken…
Just heard that Caroline has sold another painting. the two girls in dresses pulling wings off butterflies…
Brill news…onwards and upwards (which in a recession is tough)
The Life of a Blackeye and Other News
3 DecOne week on and the glorious blacked eye has changed from dark purple navy and black to yellow, red, with dark purple under my eye….I saw a boxer on the box with a black eye and it didnt look as big or as interesting as mine.. and he HAD been hit in the face.
Every one I know who has seen me has a double take, then ask how it happened. ” I walked into a door in the night, because I didnt switch on the light”. Their response is ” REALLY?”…. Like I would be with someone who hit me.. ” Yes that is REALLY what happened” still get looks of sympathy and disbelief… So told Pete that the next person who ask me what happened. I am going to say. “Pete punched me in the face”
See what reaction that gets, as most do not believe the truth.
Next week I take two paintings to be exhibited at MSO in Monkspath, Solihull. I personally think it is just a way the company can get their walls filled with ARtwork for free. But the group I am in think it might be a good opportunity to sell work. After initially submitting the work, I started to think maybe not such a good idea as they could pay US a rent for using our work. mentioned this to the person in SAF, who thinks it still is good opportunity. So taking the two pieces they wanted next week with Julie R.
This piece is called “Lost”
This is “untitled”
A friend has also offered me an opportunity to put my work up in his recently refurbished barn conversion that he is going to rent out offices. So although times are tough for selling work at least I can have a winodw to display it. Well that is how I am looking at it.
P.S. just realised that these two paintings have all the colours of my black eye.. ha ha
A BLACK EYE….
28 NovWalked into a door on thursday night,,, ARgh so painful…cant tell you..I was trying to not wake Pete by not putting on the light.. My sobbing woke him… awoke on Friday to find I have a black eye… I have never had a black eye before… why would you want one… you wouldnt…Now I love purple but this is taking it a step too far.
here are some ( not very good) photos of my changing black eye…Upper lid on Friday… could cope with that… and when my specs are on not too many people notice..but now it has creped down to the lower lid… still uncomfortable… look like i have been beaten up…
